The island of Spetses composes a historical turning point at the fight of the Greeks for their liberation from the Turks. The one and only figure of Laskarina Mpoumpoulina, who gave all her property for the fight, and other important people of Spetses leaded, together with the other Greeks, to the success of the revolution in 1821.
