KARPATHOS
An island full of folklore treasures, Karpathos is southwest of Rhodes. It has a good climate, graphical beaches and it is a perfect place for relaxing holidays. From the main town and port of the island, Pigadia, one can take the bus or boat to reach the beaches and the waterfront villages of the island. Karpathos is an island that has religiously keeps all its traditions and cultural customs; this is easily apprehended from the exhibitions and carnivals that are held and the large participation number of the local people. Also like every other place in Greece, you are sure to find ancient monuments such as the Acropolis of Poseidon, Ancient Vrikounta, the Castles at Aperi and the old town of Karpatho and many more. A visit to the folklore museum in the village of Olympos is a must, where you will see many examples of the traditions of the island. Here every house has its own church and windmill.
