RODOPI
The count of Rodopi, which has taken its name from the mountain that is found in the northern district of the county, and is also the dividing border of Greece and Bulgaria. Here the traditional Greek and that of the Orient coexist, the church with the mosque, the Christian and Muslim elements. To add to this unique combination of cultures there is also many ancient archeological sites that are worth visiting such as Ancient Maronia, Ergani, Dikea, Strimi and many Byzantine monuments and churches. All these complete a mysterious and bewitching mosaic for a visitor, who also has the opportunity to enjoy beautiful beaches on the south of the county. The capital city, Komotini, is an interesting city, with a huge Muslim influence. Here will also find many students since here is the University of Thrace, whose presences also add color to the city.
