KORINTHIA
The only county of Peloponnese that borders Attica and the closest one to Athens, Corinth attracts many Athenians for their weekend getaways, either at the capital or to the beaches on the Corinthian and Saronic Gulfs. The coastal highway towards Patra is magical and filled with little villages, small towns and vineyards, from where the famous Corinthian Sultanas are produced. Here you will also find many archeological sites such as Akrokorintho, Nemea, Sikiona, Isthmia and Ireo. The healing spas of the county are found at the beach of Saronikou at the establishment of Beautiful Helen. It also offers mountainous natural beauties. For mountain climbing the best place is Mount Ziria that towers over the village Trikala. In Corinth you will also find the famous Loutraki, where thousands of tourists gather every year.
