KYTHIRA
Separated from the rest of the Ionian Islands and a fairly different landscape as well, the Kythira are found south of Lakonia, they offer a different type of color than the rest of the islands. Kythira or Tsirigo as the locals call it, is a verdurous island with clean beaches; the most famous of them are Platia Ammo, Kapsali, Diakoti and Paleopoli. The castles of the island, the most impressive of them, the medieval castle of the main town, Kythira, the monasteries and the churches, will impress a visitor. The past few years the island has become very popular with tourists.
