NISSYROS

A volcanic island south of Kos, Nisyros has kept its character and traditional colors, since the tourist movement is not at large here as it is on the rest of the island of Aegean Sea and is the perfect place for quiet and relaxing holidays. For those who prefer swimming, Nisyros offers many beautiful beaches such as Palous and Mandraki. Thanks to the active volcano the island has hot springs, full of the healing powers of Mother Nature. Public buses connected the villages of the island but you can also go around the island by boat. Important sights to see while on the island are the Palaiokastro (old castle) in the ruins of the ancient town of the Nisyros which is close to the main town, Mandraki.
