“Myrovolos” is the Greek world that is often used to describe Chios . It means rich with “scent”. When approaching the island by ship, one can often smell the scent of oranges, lemons and other citrus fruit long before one can see the island. These vast orchards are located in Kampos, behind tall walls that house traditional, Neoclassical mansion houses – a number of which now function as guest houses.
