Once upon a time
In 1948 in Xanthi, at 14 G. Staurou Str. there was an old restaurant named "Thassalie".
At this time the only food served was traditional homemade dishes like bean soup, cabbage, tas kebap, mousaka, meat balls and other mainly Thracian dishes. Great people have visited "Thessalie", such as King Konstantinos, George Papandreou, Kostis Stefanopoulos, Panagiotis Tsaldaris, Alexandros Baltatzis.
Likie most of the fairy-tales, the good prince (mayor Filoppos Amoiridis) transformed G. Staurou Str. into a wonderful pedestrian street (1997).
And this how the history of the little princess, who became a Queen (Tavern "Ta fanarakia") begins. In May 2nd 1997, it reopens with a new name TAVERN - OUZERI "TA FANARAKIA" with tree people staff and the Michalakidi family.
In July 2000 an unpleasant event happened, it te tavern was entirely burned down by a huge fire. Fortunately, the fire brigade successfully prevented the fire to expand to the entire block.
In September 4 2000 (record time thanks to DOMIKI XANTHI CO.) the store opens again totally renovated in a very beautiful place. The staff today consists of 9 people for your better service. Our kitchen is internationally famous and our little snacks are unforgetable.
